Welcome parents!

Please visit this page for my latest parent-related information.  I update it every couple of weeks with new information and announcements.

There are a number of helpful links on the right that you can visit to get class-related information.  Please also note that I have weekly announcements for students.  Please read those with your student on Sunday evenings in preparation for the week(s) to come.

  1. 1.Be an active member of the Music Boosters!  Please join us for our first meeting of the fall semester:  Thursday, September 9, beginning at 7:30 pm in Room 92.  We have several key Booster positions which remain open; I hope you’ll consider taking an active role with us this year!  (And, your student will receive 10 extra credit points when you attend!

  2. 2.Back to School Night is Thursday, September 16.  If you attend, your student will receive 10 extra credit points!

  3. 3.The Safeway-eScrip program is a large part of how the Music Boosters maintains its annual operating budget.  eScrip is currently featuring its annual 10% Back to Schools campaign.  If you haven’t already signed up for eScrip, download this form and send it in with your student; if you are a member already, please consider changing your affiliation to Lincoln HIgh School Music Boosters (ID: 137317445).   If you shop at Safeway, many items there are currently featured in this special promotion.  Please read the details here, then send your Safeway receipt with your redemption code in with your student between September 18 and October 12.

  4. 4.On Friday, September 24, the opera “Aida” will be shown at AT&T Park--for FREE!  What a GREAT opportunity for your student’s live review!  We’ll sit out on the field, bring picnic dinners/blankets, and watch the opera!  We will depart after 7th period and travel by train up to the park.  The performance starts at 8 pm and will take approximately 3 hours, so it is a late night.  I will definitely need parent drivers/chaperones!

If you’re interested in chaperoning, please fill this form out online by Friday 9/17!

  1. 5.If you haven’t already, please do join the LHS Music Parents google group.  All department-wide parent information will be available there, including information on department events, parent assistance needs, general information and monthly updates.

  2. 6.Lastly, one of the choirs exists this year only to the incredible fundraising efforts of Mr. Manthe and a cadre of devoted alumni and parents over this past summer.  The newly-formed Lincoln Performing Arts Coalition is in desperate need of your help to support the LPA Department.  Please become a member and join us as we continue to fight the good fight on behalf of our students.  Read the details at

We cannot survive without the active assistance of parents like you.  I look forward to meeting you on September 9.  Here’s to a wonderful year!—AMK
